Fred D. Bass was born in Stuttgart, AR on April 24, 1922. Fred was the only child of Reverend Remus and Lemer Smith Bass.

He entered the US Army on June 15, 1943 and served in the European and Asiatic Theatres and was honorably discharged as a sergeant on March 25, 1946.

In 1946, Fred married Maxine Williams of Holly Springs, Mississippi. From this union, one daughter, Glenn LaVerne Bass, was born. In 1952, Fred married Jewell M. Sheppard.

He died on March 21, 2010 in Arkansas. The second photo is his obituary photo. He is the cousin of Rosie L. Adams Johnson.
